What is glass wool?

Glass wool is a construction material which is manufactured by glass melted with high temperature and make fibrous situation,

The situation before filling glass wool

 

This is the situation before filling heat insulating material at the ceiling part.

We finished sticking on gypsum board on the wall surface．After this,

we will go on patty treatment, and filling heat insulating material(or immersion)

Before that, we will proceed construction work of ceiling heat insulating material.

The situation of filling glass wool

 

This picture is the situation under construction work of filling heat insulating material at the same place.

We mount ceiling material, and go on fixing the material

with hand tucker(=a kind of resembling stapler. According to individual company or work site, it is called gun tucker.)

Furthermore, for enhancing moisture proof property, moisture proof film is sticked on the wall part.

As glass wool is weak in moisture, depending on its requirement and construction work situation,

we even stick bag packed glass wool to the film, then further go on enhancing durability against humidity.

From the viewpoint of heat insulation, we especially require airtight property when filling glass wool.

The reason is cold air or wind may come in from the gap.

Although this picture is not yet the finished situation too, however,

if you look at the ceiling area well, we can notice tape is sticked.

(we call this, airtight tape. )

After the finish of glass wool filling, we move to go on construction work process of ceiling materials such as board and others.
